Our Mission
Our purposes are exclusively charitable and educational. The Legacy Foundation maintains efforts in building an endowment to ensure a consistent level of community support and to solidify the perpetuity of its mission. The Foundation also seeks partnerships with other organizations with common purposes to increase the impact of its programs. We focus on making the maximum, positive effort for our community. Our members and volunteers provide the momentum that helps us affect change. Using data-driven models, we provide solutions that make a long-lasting difference.
Partnership Is Our History
The Legacy Foundation is a NJ Non-profit 501c(3) tax exempt organization established in 2006. Seeing a need for energetic, nonprofit work in this area, we formed our organization to provide sensible solutions. We've consistently grown since then, all thanks to the helping hands of this amazing community! The Legacy Foundation is the philanthropic arm of the Netherwood Tennis Club of Plainfield, NJ and the Plainfield Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. The Foundation exists to provide scholarships and educational opportunities to students in Central New Jersey.
Our Team
Our amazing team of regulars and part-time volunteers are committed to helping others achieve in any field of human endeavor. We have taken our convictions and turn them into action by creating social action programs, fundraiser events, and scholarship opportunities.
2021 Westry G. Horne Memorial Scholarship Awardees are Kayvone Monroy-Polanco, Egypt Hamilton, and Brenda Babulal of Plainfield High School.
2021 Greg Hackett Memorial Scholarship Awardee is Chisom Uzoeshi of Plainfield High School.
2021 Tyree P. Jones Memorial Scholarship Awardee is Justin Bugarin of Plainfield High School.
2021 Ed Perry Memorial Scholarship Awardees are Tyler Sullivan,
Willie Vick III., Dajaun Gregory, Todd Sherman Jr., Mehki Sadler
Since inception,The Legacy Foundation has awarded Academic Achievement Scholarships to more than 60 graduating seniors from the Central New Jersey area.
